The Locarno (as it was referred to) was a well-loved confectioner and café at 31 Academy Street. Many local people have come forward to share memories of buying coffee, sweets and ice-cream there. It had initially traded as Donati & Co, and in the latter years traded as Locarno Café, run by Renzo Serafini and his family. The images shown are by kind permission of the Serafini family.
